Algiers: The capital city, Algiers, is known for its mix of French colonial and modern architecture, situated along the Mediterranean coast. It is the country's political, economic, and cultural centre.

Agriculture: Despite its vast desert areas, Algeria also has fertile regions along the Mediterranean coast. Agriculture contributes to the economy, with wheat, barley, and dates being the primary crops. Livestock farming is also significant.
